Pictures improving by the day- full glass, in focus- its a Christmas miracle!

CIN-NANA-NUTTY GOODNESS!

This is one of my favorite staples- I probably make it at least once a week-
It just has so much goodness packed into a delicious and comforting smoothie... It hits the high notes all the way around.  Filled with fiber (bananas), protein (nuts and nut butter), glycemic-managing cinnamon and hidden antioxidants (flax and spinach!).... Its filling, its tasty, its good for you.  Its just perfect.

Here you go... But be warned... its addictive!

  • Very ripe organic bananas - (freeze the night before for extra thick goodness) - approx 1 1/2 per serving
  • Trader Joes Organic Almond butter with added flaxseeds
  • Unsweetened vanilla almond milk
  • Handful of organic spinach
  • Organic Ceylon cinnamon-- couple of big shakes of this- if it looks like it might be too much, its probably perfect
  • Toss in a couple of ice cubes, too- just for volume/texture/added water
Blend it up until smooth- and voila!  Its like having a banana milkshake for breakfast- without the guilt.

Blurry Blues is what I should call this thing.... but at least its full!

Antioxi-blues

Today's smoothie is a charmer--- Its sweet, a little tangy and oh so pretty to look at--- Not like those spinachy fiber drinks of yore!

Heres what's going on in this one....

  • Kefir - non-fat, plain unsweetened
  • Frozen organic blueberries- lots of 'em!
  • Frozen pineapple chunks
  • Some Trader Joes Tropical Juice in a box (not too much - lots o sugar)
  • Ch-ch-ch chia seeds
  • Flaxseed oil - about a teaspoon
  • Water/ice to blend out for proper consistency

Its yummy- try not to drink it too fast.

Your immune system is gonna love you for this one.

Once again, total fail on taking the photo before drinking....

 Sunday Morning Peach Melba-iotic

So yesterday the Hub's stomach was bugging him- he ate some yogurt and that helped.... So naturally, I started thinking about probiotics and how his diet (and mine, always!) could probably use a few million more.

That and a trip to the local Farmers where I found actual, good tasting, delicious sweet peaches--- Already!  Damn, I love living in California for this.  The availability of good, organic, locally sourced produce here has spoiled me.

Hence, today's smoothie---   A probiotic peach melba in a glass.
Once again, I was too excited to drink mine and wa

  • Peaches - sliced and frozen from the night before
  • Raspberries - also frozen
  • Effin E's non-fat Greek Honey yogurt
  • Trader Joes Organic White Grape Juics
  • Plain Non-Fat Lassa - (can also use Kefir, Yakult, or other probiotic fermented product)
  • Dash of Pure Vanilla Extract

Put it all in the blender together and Voila! A very tasty and filling way to get your probiotics on.

Until next time-
Namaste.
